Recharge and Refresh: A Guide to Self-Care and At-Home Spa Nights

Life can get overwhelming, and it’s easy to let self-care fall to the bottom of your priority list. If you’re like me, you might find yourself running on empty, wondering how you ended up in bed at 11 p.m. when you meant to be asleep by 9:30, or realizing you only drank one tumbler of water all day. Sound familiar? 


For me, self-care looks like:

  • Prioritizing sleep
  • Staying hydrated
  • Nourishing my body with good food
  • Moving my body regularly
  • Creating at-home spa experiences
  • Spending quality time with loved ones


Lately, the first four have been nonexistent, and I’m here to tell you: I’m reclaiming them. If you’ve ever felt the same, you’re not alone. And if you have an ADHD brain, you know how challenging it can be to stick to even the best-laid plans.

 

One Small Step Toward Balance

This week, I’m starting with one simple goal: Be in bed by 9:30 p.m.

When I commit to this, I can wake up at 6:30 a.m.—before the kids—to either move my body or prepare a nourishing lunch for the day. Will it happen every night? Probably not, and that’s okay. Life happens, and grace is essential. But this small change helps me feel less overwhelmed and more in control.

Create Your Own At-Home Spa Night

One of my favorite ways to recharge is by creating a luxurious spa night at home. It’s the perfect way to pamper your mind, body, and hair. 


Here’s how to do it:


Set the Mood

Light a few candles.
